Situated in the hills with a magnificent view of Dilijan, Aghasi Khanjian’s mansion has borne witnessed the country’s major historical events. Constructed in the 1930s, the building is distinguished by its original architecture and interior. “Currently, expert groups are investigating the reasons behind the partial collapse of the building over the last decade. This crucial analysis will guide the adoption of more effective restoration methods,” explains Davit Nahatakyan, the chief architect of the project.

The research phase of the renovation works of “Aghasi Khanjyan’s Villa” is currently underway. The whimsical dream of a powerful Soviet enforcer prompted him to build a country residence that looks strikingly similar to a typical Chicago house.
