Kristine Grigoryan: From Accountant to Criminal Expert

Kristine Grigoryan: if I were not an accountant, I would pursue the career of a criminal expert.

Khristine, what led you to join “Green Rock”?

I’m among the earliest team members, so to speak, one of those who laid the foundation. I became part of the company in its initial stages, initially as an outsourced worker and later as a key employee. Upon receiving the job offer, I quickly recognized that this was something I had desired for a long time. Transitioning from the hotel sector to the business sector, I am delighted to be the inaugural accountant at “Green Rock”.

Which is the most important aspect of your work?

— Apart from being an accountant, I also serve as an auditor. This means that, over the years, I have assessed the performance of different accountants while working in various companies, ultimately leading me to the role of chief accountant. I prioritize being exceptionally attentive and empathetic. I hold my work in high regard, so I approach every numerical detail with utmost seriousness. My goal is not only to perform well but also to exercise control and minimize unnecessary expenses.

Khristine, each of your colleagues has their own perception of the corporate culture at the company. What type of culture do you believe has been established?

— The company is relatively small, not even a year old, so it’s too early to precisely define the established culture. However, I can say one thing: there is a strong sense of mutual understanding and respect among us.

As you pointed out, the company is still quite small, but key positions are already occupied by individuals with significant experience and knowledge. Do you find opportunities to communicate throughout the day, exchange interesting information, share experiences, and perhaps even draw inspiration from one another?

— I may be the oldest in the team (just 10 years 😉), but I continue to learn from younger colleagues every day. They bring innovation, a broader perspective on the world, and a fearless approach. I hope they also gain something from my experience. It seems like the team has naturally divided into creative and less creative segments 😉. I, along with our lawyer and CFO, find ourselves in a different “group,” likely influenced by the nature of our work.

What are your wishes for “Green Rock” as it stands on the verge of achieving its significant goals and crucial social initiatives?

— I’m sure you’re aware that our company chose to mark its first New Year by celebrating with approximately 200 children from Artsakh who have settled in the Tavush region, making their day truly festive. It was a wonderful initiative, and we were all incredibly enthusiastic about it. The team unanimously selected this option from the three proposed choices, underscoring the shared values of the individuals within the company.

Khristine, if you weren’t pursuing a career as an accountant, what alternative profession would you opt for?

– Don’t be surprised, but I would aspire to be a criminal specialist. ։) I have a fondness for detective work — delving into investigations, probing, and analyzing suits me well.

Perhaps, onto the last question: coffee or tea?

– The accountant unequivocally opts for coffee; there’s no other choice.
