The Brick House

The brick house will become a new entertainment center for both city residents and guests.

The Brick House

After Khanjyan’s assassination, the Dilijan country house and its adjacent Brick House were repurposed as a sanctuary for senior republic officials. Speculation swirled about visits by NSS officers to the enigmatic location, whose architect remains unknown, veiled in secrecy.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the entire property, along with all its structures, was handed over to the Yerevan Reprofiling Institute for educational endeavors. In the 90s, a government-backed computer training center was set up in one of the brick houses as part of this endeavor.

After completing the technical school of computing machines in Yerevan, and later attending the institute, groups of young people would take turns visiting the brick house throughout the year for alternating periods of relaxation and study.

As per students who participated, the classrooms contained computers of the time, along with newly acquired IBMs. The educational center operated until 2002, at which point the premises were sold and the centers closed down.
