Soviet-era building transformed into a modern dining and event venue

Cabinet Café

Cabinet Café is one of Green Rock’s redevelopment projects — the restoration of a brick building that once housed a branch of Yerevan University and, according to local accounts, governmental gatherings. Instead of demolition, the building is being carefully reinforced and reimagined as a vibrant restaurant and bar.

The venue can accommodate around 150 guests across two floors, a rooftop terrace, a pergola-covered veranda, and private garden pavilions.

Project Purposes

The Café will bring new life to an existing building while creating a fresh destination for Dilijan guests. It aims to:

  • preserve the authentic character of the architecture through sustainable reconstruction,
  • introduce a new type of hospitality experience for both residents and visitors — blending dining, events, and leisure in one space.

The project will set a precedent for adaptive reuse within the Multifunctional Complex, showing how restoration can become a driver of tourism and lifestyle infrastructure.

Social Impact

Beyond being a restaurant, Cabinet Café will act as a cultural and social hub bringing social and environmental benefits to the community:

New jobs

created in hospitality and event management

Preservation of original architectural details

of the building, including the iconic staircase

Unique venue

for community events, weddings, and celebrations

Future integration

with an art park, keeping the grounds open to all visitors

Careful landscaping

to preserve existing trees and natural environment

Supporting Dilijan’s transformation

into a vibrant cultural and culinary destination
