Alessandro Ferranti, Ambassador of Italy to Armenia, and his team, paid an official visit to Dilijan, where they were warmly welcomed by the team of Apicius Armenia, the upcoming international school of hospitality. The visit marked an important milestone in the growing collaboration between Italy and Armenia in the fields of education, culture, and sustainable development.
During the visit, Ambassador Ferranti and his team met with the administration of the school, including members of the academic and project teams, and were introduced to the vision, mission, and long-term goals of Apicius Armenia. They were given a guided tour of the school’s construction site, where preparations are actively underway for the grand opening in September 2025.
The Ambassador was able to witness the dynamic progress being made toward establishing a state-of-the-art educational facility that will offer globally recognized programs in hospitality management, culinary arts, pastry and baking, wine and beverage studies, and event planning. Designed in alignment with the academic standards of the prestigious Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence, the school in Dilijan will provide a unique blend of international expertise and local relevance.
Ambassador Ferranti expressed great appreciation for the project and emphasized the strategic importance of establishing such an institution in Armenia:
“Apicius Armenia school represents a symbol of shared values, of excellence in education, and of the transformative power of cultural exchange,” he said. “By opening its doors in Dilijan, this institution brings together one of the best expression of Italian academic tradition with Armenia’s potential as a regional center for hospitality, tourism, and innovation. I am very pleased that Italy can be part of this important step forward.”
The Ambassador’s visit reaffirmed the strong diplomatic, educational, and cultural ties between Italy and Armenia. It also underscored the growing role of Dilijan as a hub for progressive, international educational initiatives.
