Dilijan to be presented as a key tourism destination in Georgia

Dilijan to be Presented as a key tourism destination in Georgia during various activities. Particularly, on September 22, the 7th International Conference on “Tourism Standards” will be held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia within World Tourism Day, where Armenia will be represented by Green Rock Foundation. The Tourism Standards International Conference has been held annually since 2020. This important platform brings together tourism specialists from different countries of the world, who present the standards and regulations of their respective countries. The conference is a perfect platform for networking and establishing diverse collaborations. Armenia will be represented at this conference for the first time.

On September 23, a separate event will be held by Green Rock Foundation where the Meet Dilijan initiative will be presented with participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia, Tourism Committee of Armenia, Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) and Georgian Tourism Association (GTA), as well as tour operators and representatives from relevant sectors. It should be noted that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Green Rock Foundation and the Georgian Tourism Association will also take place within the event.

The Meet Dilijan initiative aims to showcase Dilijan’s unique appeal as a leading tourist destination for both local and international visitors. The platform will allow users to organize and personalize their experience in Dilijan. It will provide a variety of tools and resources that allow visitors to explore the city in depth: its nature, rich culture, cuisine, and other important layers. The aim is to present the city of Dilijan as a tourism and cultural site, to make it more recognizable in the Georgian market, and to contribute to the promotion of tourism development in Dilijan. The attendees will be introduced to Dilijan’s rich history, cultural heritage, and tourism potential. Special attention will be given to the HoReCa sector (hotels, restaurants, cafés), since hotels and public catering establishments will be the primary beneficiaries of the increase in tourist flow from Georgia.

“Presenting Dilijan on this international platform is a unique opportunity not only to reveal the city’s tourism and cultural potential, but also to strengthen Armenia’s position on the regional tourism map. We believe that Dilijan can become a bridge between the tourism markets of Armenia and Georgia, thanks to its favorable logistics, close geographical proximity, and accessibility for short weekend trips. Moreover, Dilijan offers strong potential for combined regional tours, attracting international visitors who wish to experience both Armenia and Georgia in a single journey.

This participation is at once a great responsibility and an opportunity to demonstrate that Armenia is ready to present itself to international partners on a new level. Importantly, Green Rock Foundation is also a founding member of the Meet Dilijan initiative, which brings together stakeholders committed to the sustainable development and global promotion of the city,” – the head of the Green Rock Foundation, Katya Bredikhina, noted.
