Dilijan was represented at the award ceremony through the Meet Dilijan initiative, which aims to position the city as a modern MICE destination. The ceremony took place in Moscow. The award was granted to Dilijan based on the voting results of a jury composed of leading international experts in the field.
The MICE Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious honors in the field of business tourism, highlighting key initiatives across Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and CIS countries. This year, the competition included dozens of countries such as Georgia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus, the UAE, Lithuania, and more. Dilijan was the only destination from Armenia to reach the finals.
The Meet Dilijan initiative, launched in 2025, quickly gained international recognition by presenting Dilijan as a competitive, flexible, and innovative destination not only in the South Caucasus but also beyond.
Dilijan stands out with its cultural heritage and breathtaking nature, and today it is gaining a new image — innovative, sustainable, and creative — becoming a hub for international business events. Following Dilijan’s example, the Tavush region is turning into a model of successful integration, where tourism, culture, nature, and business environment merge.
This achievement sends a strong message to international partners about Dilijan’s growing role and also demonstrates that Armenia’s regions are ready to be full participants in international processes, offering creative, sustainable, and high-quality content.
The Meet Dilijan initiative has already established a solid foundation for international cooperation, investment interest, and business tourism development, creating an environment that meets global standards. Dilijan’s example proves that Armenia’s regions can be bold, strategic, and proactive actors shaping the international agenda.
