Newly established company, the “Green Rock”, already has a large team, for each of whom the pursuit of excellence is of primary importance.

It is time to get to know our employees, to discover them and their role in “Green Rock”.

Today we have talked with Vanane Ararktsyan, the company’s business development director.

– Vanane, you have a lot of work experience, what is your method of building successful business relationships?

I believe that one shall find a way to communicate with each person and always smile 🙂

– What is your biggest victory as of now?

If we talk about work matters, I can assert that within all of my work and business I have always had the desire and goal to bring great benefit to our country and society. And I believe it has worked for me so far.

– How do you plan your working day and what role does planning play for you?

My working day is always preplanned: all meetings are always marked in the calendar in advance. I cannot imagine my life without planning, because both my personal and work life is very full.

– Please describe one of your regular working days.

My working day starts early in the morning when I either rush to the office or only after having breakfast with a colleague. Endless office work, lunch with colleagues… The day ends in an unpredictable manner and in unpredictable times, it is very rare for me  to leave the office at 18:00 🙂

  • You are the development director of “Green Rock” company. What duties does the position entail, what are your functions?

Being a development director, especially in a start-up company, is quite challenging, because everything starts from 0; building business relationships, establishing contacts with partners, etc. However, having a lot of work experience and being quite familiar with the Armenian market and most structures definitely help me.

  • The toughest moment in your job?

It is a complicated question 🙂 I think any problem at work can be solved thanks to building the right human relations.

  • The most enjoyable moment in your job?

I cannot but repeat myself: the most enjoyable this is when there is a righteous and working environment at work.

– You have worked in the fashion industry as the head of the fashion department. How did such a drastic change at work happen?

For 5 years, I have been the head of the fashion department of the only international magazine presented in Armenia, after which I have moved to the field of charity, to the “SOS Children’s Villages” Armenian charitable foundation. I have done one of the most difficult jobs there for 8 years – fund raising. Before working at “Green Rock” I have also managed the “American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia”. As a result of all this, I am familiar with representatives of various sectors of the Armenian business market.

– Does the knowledge acquired in previous positions help you to fulfill the responsibilities of your current job, and did difficulties arise during such a major professional and industry change?

Today I am in the business sector and thanks to my years of experience, knowledge, and education, I implement all the goals and challenges set before “Green Rock” with great love and energy. There were no difficulties, because the change is only sectoral, human relations and work processes are the same.

– And finally, our traditional question of this series. Coffee or tea?

Chocolate 😉
